MY INTENT IS TO HAVE BUYERS COME BACK...SO PLEASE BID WITH CONFIDENCE. Item Description: This is a beautiful, old Northwood PEACOCKS ON THE FENCE Plate with the Rayed Exterior in gorgeous ICE GREEN Base Glass. It is 9 inches wide and 1 5/8 inches tall. The piece displays extremely vivid Multi-Color Iridescence with a strong emphasis of Blue Color...very sweet! The Rayed exterior shows through to the front for a dynamic visual presentation. Natural light loves this piece as the photos show off...it is an attention grabber. I think the photos speak for themselves...please look them over. Its even better in person. It is in Stellar condition too. This one is not marked...but Northwood did not sign approximately 1/2 the pieces they made. This IS an authentic Northwood piece...I absolutely guarantee it. Those of you new to collecting...do not shy away from pieces that are not marked. You can learn the patterns that have been reproduced and what to look for in David Doty's book. He explains it as well as I've seen it done. If you have been looking for a great example of this awesome base glass color or you've been looking for an upgrade, give this one serious consideration. Its a looker and will enhance and value to your collection. It is an outstanding investment quality piece of glass. I have included several photos of the piece so you can see for yourself. It looks even better in your hands as it is always very difficult to capture a piece like this on film and do it justice. You can reference this piece in David Doty's 1998 Field Guide to Carnival Glass or The Encyclopedia to Carnival Glass and Edwards and Carwile. I guarantee this is authentic, early 1900's vintage Carnival Glass! All my pictures are taken outside, ALWAYS, in natural, indirect sunlight against a dark or light cloth or other natural background in my yard...no artificial light is ever used. I never enhance photos, if you like the color you see...that is what you will get! I do not use reserves, never have, I believe auctions should be...well...auctions! So bid with confindence and have fun...LOW starting bid...it will sell to the high bidder. Item Condition: ( Pictures are part of the description...and I include lots of them...so please have a look!) This piece is in supeb condition. It has no cracks, chips or repairs! T are a few very faint, scattered manufacturing stretch marks, nothing u ncommon. T are a couple of very tiny, scattered enclosed manufacturing bubbles scattered within the glass...again...nothing uncommon. T is a one inch manufacturing dye run within the glass, very minor and not uncommon at all to this base glass color. Very minor. T he Base is in superb condition. I can see no wear at all. The mold seams are barely t to the touch. The piece sits flat, level and solid. The Rim and Edge on the piece is shaped very nice, saw teeth are all t, well formed and accounted for. Beautiful visuals. The Interior of the piece is in great shape. No issues and no wear I can make out. Super, super mold definition. It is obvious it has been very well cared for over the many decades. Exceptional! The Exterior NO wear and no issues. Exceptional to say the least. That is all I can find on this AWESOME, beautiful piece of glass. This is a top quality, top shelf example that will enhance any collection...very colorful...outstanding condition...certainly one you'll be proud to display and one that will stand out. It is an excellent investment quality piece of glass. I 've looked the piece over hard and I'm being very picky with my condition description. I included lots of pictures, up close, so be sure to look them over. I collect Carnival Glass myself and I try to be very thorough with my descriptions, like I like others to be when I'm buying so you know what you are getting.
