Recent Estate Acquisition! Norway Designer Brooch Made by Willy Winnaess for David Andersen This company was founded in 1876. David Andersen died in 1901 and his son, Arthur Andersen, took over the company. He introduced the use of enamelling on the companies jewelry. The brooch measures 3" x 1 1/2". The earrings measure approx. 1 1/2" in length. The combined weight is 19.9 grams. Pinback works properly. Clip backs work properly. Stamped 925S, DA, NORWAY, STERLING, W and the scale mark. (See photos for stamps) Most of the Norwegian jewelry in the US was brought over by immigrants. GOOD VINTAGE CONDITION! All enamel intact, some crazing on one top tip leaf.
