The production of these tubes has been monitored permanently for same very high quality level and tube parameters. And believe me: German PTT only used the best material (like CCa tubes) for their equipment. As far I know these tubes have been used mainly for long distance amplifiers, were highest reliability and long life is the main point. The tube is an aluminium shielded glass tube. So if you remove the aluminium and glue the base with the glass, you can see a nice glass tube. Most of the C3m tubes are mesh plate tubes (in fact some series are not!!) !!
