2 NOS Western Electric JW 5755 Vacuum Tubes Ultra Quiet Audio Twin Triodes These new-old-stock tubes have been tested for mutual conductance. On my Hickok TV-7 tester they read 36/39 and 38/39. A reading of 25 would represent the minimum recommended value. These new old stock Western Electric tubes are from 1959 USA military production. They feature clear glass envelopes, gray plates and a rectangular frame getter at the top. Western Electric introduced this high-mu twin triode tube type as the 420A – designed for high stability use in DC amps. The 5755 is known for its extremely low microphonics – even quieter than other fine audio tubes like the 6072 or 6267.
