Item is a two sided penciled hand written note by the Duke of Windsor, It is on a Greenbrier Resort note with a large red G at the top of the note. The bottom of the notepad has "America's Smartest and Gayest Resort printed on it. It appears to be written for a telepgram the Duke was composing to decline an invitation from Ruth Montgomery, President of the Women's National Press Club in Washington D.C. The note was found by my father when he used the same suite on May 18, 1951. The note reads as follows: Front side Ruth Montgomery, President Women's National Press Club Washington D.C. The Duchess and I greatly appreciate your invitation. Unfortunatly we have (engagements) - crossed out and replaced with - a full schedule of Other side of note reads: engagements until we sail for Europe May 24th.
