Item for auction is a 5.31g endcut of my new NWA 7939 LL4-6 brecciated meteorite, that was acquired at the 2013 Tucson Gem & Mineral show from a Moroccan dealer. The stone was cut by Montana Meteorite Laboratory, and a sample sent to Dr Tony Irving, who reports that its a relatively fresh breccia composed of closely-packed clasts (exhibiting variable degrees of recrystallization) plus some large, well-formed chondrules in a sparse fragmental matrix containing stained metal grains. Chondrule abundances in clasts range from sparse to rare. Olivine (Fa31.5-31.8), orthopyroxene (Fs22.3-24.4Wo0.7-1.6), clinopyroxene (Fs8.9-9.1Wo44.6-43.9), sodic plagioclase, chromite, altered kamacite and troilite. The specimen comes in a quality labeled display box for protection and years of viewing pleasure, along with a Big Kahuna Meteorites Certificate of Authenticity / Identification card and would make a splendid addition to any collection. Scale cube in photo is 1cm on each side, and not included in sale. Big Kahuna combines shipping, and addresses must be in the English language, to facilitate customs input at US Postal Service. Non-English addresses cannot be shipped, and may incur additional fees for handling. We no longer ship to Italy.
