Up for auction are four real photo postcards with the old AZO stamp on the back. The photos were taken sometime between1910 and 1918. They are a rare historical find that depicts a trip three people took to see the Dover Stone Church. I believe that one of them is a local doctor. from Sharon. You can see the car parked and a farmhouse in the distance. Each Card has writing on the back but they were never sent, just probably added to the family scrapbook and then forgotten as the years went by. The view of the brook shows the trail leading to the Stone Church, Another photo shows the grotto opening of the Stone Church and the other a view of w the car was parked with a farmhouse in the background. This location consists of a hidden natural cleft in the mountain through which Stone Church Creek flows over two ~20 foot high waterfalls and through the grotto which is some 30 feet tall by 80 feet deep, at least for the first chamber.
