NYCS - New York Central System - Lantern* Dressel - Tall Globe - Railroad Lantern 1940-1950 *Absolutely as close to Mint as Can be Found! is a very rare opportunity to buy a practically mint, Dressel Railroad Lantern, from days gone by! This is a tall globe lantern, with cast NYCS letters, and the cast N X in the red, Corning globe. Globe is absolutely perfect, and the lantern is as well. Marked on the hood: NYCS , and on the top cap: Dressel - Arlington NJ . The photos do not do the globe justice, as t is much reflection from the light. The letters are perfectly cast, in a high relief style, very clearly defined. Underneath the NYCS, is Made in the USA. The Corning trademark "N X", surrounded by a "C", is also cast in high relief, highly defined style. This Dressel lantern has all original parts, including the difficult to find Dressel burner and fuel pot. Dressel lanterns are harder to come by, as they are not as common as the Dietz, Adlake and Adams & Westlake lanterns. This Dressel lantern, is in as close to mint condition, as you will ever find, and is a highly desirable collectible; the finest museum quality that can be found! No brag - just fact! The flat metallic silver, Dressel painted finish, is perfect, as are the structural details. The Dressel lanterns were all painted silver, over the specially prepared metal. T is read more
