Oberon and Titania are characters of W.Shakespeare's comedy "A Midsummer Night's Dream". Oberon is about to sprinkle Titania's eyelids with juice from the flower de luce, the iris, in his hand. This juice, applied to a sleeper's eyes, will make the person fall in love with whoever he/she sees first upon awakening. This is a reproduction of an antique plaque dated by January 1848 and signed by E.W.Wyon. Very accurate, high quality carving. Material: Bonded Marble. Size: 8" diam.
