You are bidding on an SCARCE item of VINTAGE PRE-Embargo CUBAN AIRLINE and WORLD AVIATION HISTORY. Up for bid is an ORIGINAL CUBANA Airline WINGS INSIGNIA PIN, used by the Cubana Airline Pilots and Employees. During this time CUBANA Airlines had a CLOSE RELATIONSHIP and AIRLINE-COOPERATION with PAN AM Airlines. This ORIGINAL and VINTAGE PIN EMBLEM is made of Silver "STERLING" material which is engraved on screw backside. This SCARCE Pin item is marker with number "173" and measures app. 20 millimeter in width and is in overall good condition: some wear and various enamel surface SCRATCHES. Formed by the Curtiss Aviation Group it began flights the next year using a Ford 4-AT aircraft. In May 1932 the airline was acqured by Pan American and the airline renamed Compania Nacional Cubana de Aviacion. By 1945 the airline name had been shortened to Compania Cubana de Aviacion and first international flights were started with DC-3 aircraft to the USA (Miami).
