"Seated Woman with an Open Book" * As Shown in Plate No. 17 in Marian Klamkin's Book: "Made in Occupied Japan: a Collector's Guide" 19766" High Maruyama Porcelain was one of the better, more respected porcelain manufacturers producing excellent quality wares during the "Occupied Japan" period. This figurine is one of the more well known and desirable pieces sought by collectors. It is embellished with bright gold and bears close resemblance with Staffordshire and Capodimonte porcelain.This statue is in excellent condition with no damage, repairs, crazing, fleabites, etc.
