IT'S VERY RARE TO HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO PURCHASE A PIECE OF HIS WORK DONE IN OIL.*This is a original, wonderful Woodstock, New York Autumn landscape, oil on canvas, by the well-known Woodstock artist Ronau William Woiceske. IT IS TITLED "THE RAVINE." If you are at all familiar with the world-famous Woodstock School of artists, then you will know of this well-known painter. He is best known for his gorgeous winter landscapes that he produced throughout his career. Some of his smaller winter landscape etchings -- JUST ECTCHINGS themselves -- sell for $1000 and more. This is a chance to get one of his original oil on canvas works of art, of a deeply rich and beautiful forest stream landscape. This oil painting is circa 1940. IN ORIGINAL FRAME. It is signed by the artist on the lower right-hand corner, and titled and signed on back. WoiceskeAlso Known as: Ronau William Woiceske, Ronau W. Woiceske, R. William Woiceske Ronau W. Woiceske was born in Bloomington, Illinois in 1887. He studied painting with Birge Harrison and John Carlson. In his later years he concentrated on printmaking, using etching, drypoint and aquatint to produce the atmospheric winter landscapes for which he became known. His editions usually ran between 50 and 100. Many of his snow scenes attracted national attention at the time. His etchings and paintings were exhibited in many American cities and abroad. He was a member of the Philadelphia Print Club and the National Association of Etchers. He died in his home in Woodstock, New York on July 21, 1953.
