This specimen measures 3 1/2" Wide x 4" Deep x 3" Tall, a nd weighs 1# 13oz. This s pecimen is packed with large puffball-like clusters of radiating acicular OKENITE crystals. T are many small white GYROLITE clusters, and several large clusters inside the geode. The geode is unusual in that the Chalcedony is yellow instead of white; the entire inside of the geode has a layer of sparkling yellow druzy Chalcedony. The opening goes all the way through but you cannot quite see through because t is so much Okenite. The geode shape is great protection for your Okenite specimen. From India. Okenite crystals are easily broken; as tempting as they are, refrain from touching them. To clean them, simply use a can of compressed air. OKENITE Chemical Composition: Ca10Si18O46-18H2O Hardness : 4.5-5 Crystal Habit: Acicular, blade-shaped, flattened, fibrous. Commonly as radiating aggregates. Color: White or bluish-white. Often the crystals are treated to be a saffron yellow or green. Lustre: Pearly, transparent to translucent.
