This one is just a very nice old vintage boston terrier bulldog doorstop in it's orignal paint and in unrestored, untouched up, originall hardware condition. This is one of the factory painted ones, not the ones painted by a customer, you can tell by the quality of the paint and the very nice shadings in coloration, all original . This one is not new and let me tell you why. It is an old casting. Seams fit together beautifully although they are not as tight as original since they have loosed over the decades. Now in some you will see that they open up the screws and retighten them but then you lose the original paint over the screws!! W paint is missing, it either shows the true old foundry white undercoat or in a very few places, the deep ruby red brown color old cast iron turns after decades. Screws are old and original, filled in deeply before painting and never opened. you can't even see them so NEVER opened. This is the original paint, absolutely, no touchups or restoration. This measures 10 inches long by 10 tall and weighs 8 pounds. The very few small white speckles you see on it have accumulated over decades of ceilings or porches or doors being painted and are part of it's beauty and age. Great paint and what a nice job they did on the eyes and the markings. Even the original trace of red for the mouth. What adds to the value on this is the original and nice paint job done on it. Is it a Hubley? Who knows? the majority were signed inside and you would never want to open this and disturb the paint. But National and Eastern Foundry made them too and the same molds often used. I can tell you this, it is absolutely guaranteed old, genuine and original and to your personal satisfaction. Thanks for looking and please see my other auctions for more cast metal antique and vintage bookends and doorstops that I will combine on shipping whenever possible.
