DESCRIPTION : You are bidding on an EXQUISITE silver necklace that was handwrought in Mexico, circa 1930's to 1940's. This dramatic piece is masterfully crafted in a magnificently classic design that has a wonderful art deco look. It consists of a large and super dimensional central pendant (2-3/4" long and 1-1/2" wide) ~ the top portion of the pendant has a half round rich jet black onyx cabochon that is bezel set in silver and accented with a decorative scalloped border at the bottom. Hanging from the top portion is a triangular jet black onyx cabochon that is bezel set and accented at the bottom with a scalloped border. On either side of the central pendant are long silver swirl links with thick cone shaped black onyx cabochons ~ silver crescent links with scalloped borders at the bottom are on either side of the central pendant and scroll flourish onyx links. The recesses of the designs are heavily oxidized which highlights the exquisite silverwork beautifully ~ the silver has a beautiful rich patina. The links are connected with soldered silver jump rings. The clasp is a tongue and box closure that works perfectly and closes with a crisp 'click'.
