old Antique German DOOR Latch Elbow Lock 1900's
This latch is a complete set with no key. This lock is marked GERMANY on the latch bar. These were hand made and assembled with rivets.
It has a great texture from its years of use. T is some wear on the moving parts which is to be expected for its age. I had it apart and cleaned and made sure every thing works ok.
This style does have the privacy lock that can be used with no key. This latch can be used on a door requiring a latch on the left and the hinges on the right. The latch is 5 1/2" long and 4" wide.
These German locks work best on doors 1 5/16" thick or less.
T are no BROKEN parts.
All the parts for the back side of the door, the handle plate, the handle part and the hard to find jamb part are included.I cleaned off all the loose rust and lead paint. I put flat black paint on the pieces. You can paint them whatever color you want or leave it as it is. This latch is ready to go and will give many more years of faithful service. New screws are available in my store listings . Vintage used screws are available at $4.00 per set. Ask at check out for a screw set. My latches are NOT reproductions! They are stripped of years of paint and wire brushed. 5/08
I have lowered my handling fee to $1.00 to help offset the new USPS charges!
