Available to you is this wonderful vintage 1940's siren. It could be used on or off a vehicle, use of the black wire is optional when used on a vehicle. The light works, and it is very loud! I recently had it serviced. I believe this came from a fire truck, but it may have come from a hospital ambulance or a police car. Although the nameplate is missing I found an advertisement which I will include that identifies this as a Sirenlite made by the Sterling Siren Fire Alarm Co. It measures 16 inches long, 6 1/2" in the center and 8 1/4" across the red lens. The lens has no scratches chips or cracks. It is copper beneath the black&white paint on the front section that holds the lens, and the cone section in the rear. I was going to strip the paint to buff and polish the copper, but never got to it. The center section is some type of white metal. The base has a Art Deco style and I believe is steel, I am unsure if this is original to it or not it was the way I got it. T are 3 very light dents in the cone, and 2 of the 6 small screws are missing that attach the front copper section to the center white metal section, probably gone a long time and never missed. I hope I covered everything. Thanks for looking! Happy Bidding!
