Back from my new location I'm pleased to offer you this This SARREGUEMINES MAJOLICA OYSTER PLATE comes from the France's oldest manufacturer of Faience dinnerware.On the continent, the largest producer of majolica was Sarreguemines. For 200 years, the company improved its know-how, competing to raise theart of ceramics.On the 19 th c, Sarreguemines enjoyed a well-established reputation which was further enhanced by artists such as GallÃ©.Sarreguemines majolica is among some of the finest ever produced. It has a wonderful definition and remarkable coloring with well-definedrelief.The attention to detail and excellent quality of their waressurpassed that of other manufacturers, with the exception of Minton. Sarreguemines produced some of the finest majolica ever made.Sarreguemines manufacture has produced stunning and rare majolica oyster plates.This one has an black green and brown color. Ca 1950s.This Oyster PLATE measures 9 1/2 inches in diameter It is in very good condition, no cracks , no chips ,Some age-related glaze crazing in the glaze.Pontil marks and a manufactory flaw on the bottom.It's marked on the bottom SARREGUEMINES France .This OYSTER PLATE is a beautiful add to your collection.
