Old Japanese calligraphy & picture manuscript Buddhist This is a small volume of Japanese calligraphy and paintings. It is put together in a concertina format, with leaves folding out into a long strip of pages. Each page has a small poem or saying executed in a beautiful handwriting. In addition to the black ink writings, t are red kanji beneath and a number of different seal impressions. T are also green seal impressions of iconic things, such as a bug, a frog, a monk with a staff, etc. T are also 3 paintings among the calligraphy pages, 2 depicting flowers and 1 a bamboo. The booklet dates to the 1920's. T are a total of 36 pages, each having a painting or writing on them. The cover is very hard, almost wood-like. The volume is in good condition, t are no damages.
