For auction is a very nice old A. Leitz Co ship compass. It is a handsome compass, sitting in its own box with Leitz emblem on it. It balances in/on the box via a gimbal ring which allows it to tip level in any direction. Compass works perfectly. The box is 7 1/2 x 7 1/2 by 3 1/2, the compass is 5 3/8 inches in diameter, its housing is 3 1/2 inches deep, the gimbal ring is 6 1/2 inches diameter. The compass and ring have matching numbers stamped on them: 13849. The compass face appears to be bleached out a little, it is white with blue letters and numbers. T was probably a lid to the box but I don't have it. Please view the pictures. Please ask if you have any questions. Buyer pays shipping, insurance and a small packing material fee.
