BEAUTIFUL OLD BATIK STAMP FROM JAVA THIS COPPER STAMP WAS ORIGINALLY USED TO CREATE LOVELY BATIK PATTERNED COTTON CLOTH IN JAVA, INDONESIA. EACH OF OUR STAMPS IS UNIQUE. THE BALINESE USE THESE STAMPS BY DIPPING THEM INTO HOT WAX AND PRESSING THE WAX INTO THE FABRIC, TRANSFERRING THE PATTERN TO THE FABRIC. THE FABRIC IS THEN DIPPED INTO DYE, AND THE WAXED PATTERNED PART RESISTS THE DYE, LEAVING THE PATTERN UN-DYED.
