Hello !! And welcome to my auction !! Now this is an old bird, in fact the stand is in the shape of a birds foot! 3 toes forward and 1 backward! The gnarley little branch shapes that make up the tea pot handle end in a little bird's head that rests in the nest of the stand and can rotate from side to side. T is so much going on , the tea pot handle and the tea pot lid are both original, w the handle screws into the tea pot is a little wobbly but isn't going anyw I don't know if the pot leaks, I have not tried it. The little fat burning lamp is missing it's snuffer lid, otherwise will work fine if it has a wick and oil. That burner rotates from side to side as well, this would be the heat control. The stand is made of a springy type of metal, not cast. The decorative touches are cast and all appear to be t This thing is all hand made and was used extensively for years and years. I try to imagine what little old woman must have sat in her rocking chair, gazing into her tea leaves to tell a fortune, with this pot lit nearby and ready to brew more tea. Was she a Gypsy?, a witch?, we will never know. This seems to me a thing to use outside, it is very primitive and yet wonderfully created, maybe by the hearth in the days before couches and TV, when mattresses were straw.
