I purchased this TELEGRAPH SET from a local estate. The man had worked on the railroad for a number of years. The set contains three (3) sounders. One of the sounders was made by the J H Bunnell Co. Another sounder was made by the Signal Electric Co.. The third sounder was made by the Western Electric Company.A Oak Box measuring 6 1/2 " by 5 1/2 " by 3 " has a Black Push Knob on the side. Inside of the box are places for lines to be connected. On one edge of the box it reads L1 B2 Y R GN...I am not sure if that is w the outside lines are connected. The outside of the box reads WESTERN ELECTRIC.A little larger Oak box measuring 7 3/8 " by 6 1/4 " by 2 7/8 " also has Western Electric on the outside. On the inside it reads A B & C Jack boxes. T appears to be points on the inside. T are six (6) jack connectors on the one side. The telephone box measures about 9 " by 6 1/2 " by 4 ".The mouth piece extends out about 3 1/2 ". The chord attached to the headset is about 30 " long. The chord is frayed at the connection to the headset. Inside contains various phone parts. The outside has a black button --Push to talk--Release to listen. T is an extra mouthpiece which appears to unused. Please note--if I have described something incorrectly--please someone e-mail me and I will make corrections.
