Nice old semi scarce carpenter's woodworking jointer plane. Marked "Palmer & Storkes Patent" and Metalic Plane Co. Auburn, NY. "May 14, 1867 & Oct. 19, 1869" Retains at least 95 - 97% original japanned finish. Has a crack in the base of handle, and someone made an old repair by running a bolt through the handle and tapped it right into the base of the plane. Although not visible from photo, due to refelection, t is a hole in the base or body w it was drilled. 2-1/4 inch cutter not marked. Plenty of wear and tear or little dings from use on the outside of the body from over the years. But absolutely no chips, cracks or damage of any sort to the casting, otherwise this would easily rate pretty decent and is in good overall condition, aside from the handle problems.
