Used by the barrel maker in preparing the inside end of the barrel to accept the wood barrel head. 13 1/2" X 6" with a faint stamp that could be a maker or an owner. The fence for this ran along the top edge of the barrel. The resulting wear groove is evident as is the fact that the board was turned over to get more life out of the plane. Many cooperage tools lead a hard life and come to me in need of cleanigng and restoration. Not this one. Ready to display or put back to work. Thanks for your interest.
