This is a beautiful old antique or very vintage Swedish Christmas Tomte candle holder. This beautiful piece is hand carved and painted. It holds 5 candles and is quite large. It would make a beautiful Holiday table centerpiece. T are 4 crouching Tomte Elves holding up the candle holder. The painting is excellent, very charming, and has wonderful folk art appeal. This comes from the estate of a Swedish woman whose family immigrated from Sweden to Superior, Wisconsin at the turn of the century. I do not know if this came over from Sweden at that time or at a later date. It is about 17 inches across in both direction and the tallest candle holder is 7 inches tall. The piece is in pristine condition! Paint is excellent and shows wonderful patina. I consider this item to be a Museum Quality piece of folk art. It will be the pride of your collection.
