Offered for your consideration is an awesome older Katz model XT 80 lockblade pocketknife. Katz knives can be quite difficult to find and are of exceptional quality. They were design by custom maker Keith Derkatz of Chandler, Arizona and made by highly skilled cutlers in Seki City, Japan. This veratile model is called the "Cheetah" and it offers outstanding quality and performance.This knife was made in Seki City, Japan, home of some of the world's finest knifemakers. Seki has an 800+ year tradition of steel and blade making. Most of the knives for the larger U.S. companies like Kershaw were made by smaller operations with highly skilled craftsman. In fact, one of Japan's most renowned makers is Ichiro Hattori who got his start in his father's shop and then went on to make knives for Kershaw, Browning, Beretta, and many other before opening his own custom shop. Sakai, Moki, and several other top Japanese makers from Seki specialized in making knives for U.S. firms. The knife was beautifully crafted and has a look and feel of refined precision. If offers a full measures of the fine quality that the top Japanese makers are known for. It was well-designed and is a very versatile, premium-quality folder that's also highly functional. The knife shows very few signs of use and remains very nice. The blade was precisely ground and has a read more
