ONEIDA COMMUNITY WHITE ORCHID DINNER FORKS (5) AND INDIVIDUAL SALAD FORK (1) Up for auction is this beautiful set of five dinner forks and one individual salad fork in the WHITE ORCHID pattern made by Oneida Community. This collectible pattern dates back to 1953 and has since been discontinued. The dinner forks each measure approximately 7 3/4 inches long and and the individual salad fork measures 6 3/4 inches long. All are stamped with "COMMUNITY" and White Orchid " on the back of each handle. They are in overall excellent condition, with light scratching, most likely from storage and polishing over the years. Each dinner fork displays a small degree of what I refer to as "knife nicks" on the back of the outside tines, near the tips. This comes from use, and yet, other than a few small heavier nicks, the remainder are tiny and light. Considering the age of these pieces, I suspect these were used only on special occasions and were taken care of very lovingly. The individual salad fork is in excellent condition as well, and seems to have been used even less. None are monogrammed. These elegant forks hold a gorgeous shine, and would be a wonderful addition to any collection. This group is ready to come out of retirement and go back into service. They can boost up place settings or switch off for those forks that aren't in as good of condition and need to be retired! *I hand polish all of my silver pieces in order to inspect and determine their condition.
