I'm very pleased to present Dodo, a 12,2 inches polar bear cub entirely designed and hand crafted by myself.I always use my own designs for my creations, and I completely sew them by hand, in a smokefree environment. For Dodo I chose a 22mm white Schulte alpaca. Paw pads are made with black leather. Dodo's sweet face has been obtained with needle felting. His muzzle has also rooted in mohair which has been successively scissor sculpted. Dodo has glass eyes and a polymer clay sculpted nose. Also his claws are sculpted with polymer clay. Delicate shading has been done to his face, ears and paws. Scissor sculpting to his head and paws. Dodo is four-ways cotter pin jointed (arms and legs). All limbs are wired. He has no neck joint as he has a wire backbone connecting head and body, enabling him to move his head also up and down and giving him a wide range of possibilities for posing. Dodo is stuffed with sheep wool and encased stone granulate for some added weight.Dodo owns a felt fish that I designed for him. He doesn’t eat it though, it is only a toy! He always travels with his birth certificate made in matching materials. Dodo is not meant for children, but only as a collector item.
