This tiny tea pot was hand sculpted by me in polymer clay with dental tools and without the use of molds, painted in acrylics, and glazed with Varathane. Majolica is a type of decorative ceramic art which originated in Florence during the renaissance, and enjoyed a exuberant and restyled revival during the Victorian era. About the artist Since early childhood, I've held a fascination for the tiny decorative fantasy worlds that can be created in miniature. Not content with commercially produced toys, I built my own 1/12 scale victorian wonderlands and spent happy hours diving deep into the dazzling beauty and history of decorative arts. As an adult, I applied that love for design and ornament to working for the interior design trade- first painting designs for custom rugs in 1 1/2" scale, and later on the opposite end of the scale spectrum as a muralist. Today, after 25 years, I return to my original love to create tiny lovely things.
