Note: This is a 5-day auction that will end Friday night, and can be shipped on Saturday.If you like to dress up your playpals for holidays, here to help you celebrate the upcoming July 4th festivities is a striking head-to-toe set in red/white/blue for Peter Playpal and Patti/Shirley/other 35" companion dolls with the same body size. Don't they look like they are ready to watch the parade down Main Street USA? My neighbor came by and turned Peter's cap around, saying I needed to make him look more sporty, so I included a couple of photos the way she fixed it LOL I've only made one patriotic dress for Patti since 2002 in the traditional flag colors and it was 2 years ago, so past time to come up with a new one :=) Heirloom quality workmanship and materials will insure years of display enjoyment in the future. You will receive everything pictured: Peter's shirt, pants, belt, shoes, socks, cap, flag; Patti's dress, slip, undies, shoes, socks, sun hat, bracelet, flag. DOLLS NOT INCLUDED.I'll start with Patti's one-piece dress made to look like separate skirt, vest and blouse. The lined bodice features a white cotton blouse with banded neck and short puffed sleeves, solid navy Kona cotton vest trimmed with bands of rickrack and red star appliques. The waist is accented with two red satin bows and the bodice with 3 tiny handpainted star buttons. The full gathered skirt is a bold stripe of red/white/blue in a crisp polished cotton from my stash from several years ago. Attached batiste slip is trimmed with gathered lace and tri-color grosgrain ribbon. The dress opens all the way down in back for easy on/off and fastens with buttons. Net half slip is also trimmed with rows of gathered red and white lace and a band of striped fabric, which adds the right amount of 'pouf' for the skirt without being over-full. Instead of a hair bow Patti wears a handmade white cotton sun hat with a navy band and accented with large red star appliques. Batiste repro undies, red lorienyc maryjane shoes and thin white socks are also included. The finishing touches are a tri-color bead bracelet and little flag.Peter's pants from solid navy Kona cotton are made like his original long pants, with just a little extra room in the hips so they are easier to get on. A reversible navy belt is included in case you wish to use the pants later with a different shirt or tuck this one in (I think it makes him look like a referee LOL). The tailored shirt made from the same striped polished cotton as Patti's skirt is an old style that was very popular for both boys and men in his era based on various vintage catalogs. It was called a "poncho popover" that featured a pointed hem front and back, a shorter button placket, and one pocket. I chose to retain Peter's traditional collar instead of the button-down style. Long cuffed sleeves will cover the typical red staining on most Peter arms. The front placket gives the appearance of a pullover shirt, but it actually fastens in back with hidden snaps for easy on/off. The purchased navy cap has a flag emblem sewn on with some long stitches in case you wish to remove it and use it as a regular cap. His white sneakers with red and white side stripes are gently used but still good as new, and come with white socks. Peter also gets a little flag for the parade.SATISFACTION IS GUARANTEED, high quality workmanship throughout with all seams professionally finished, very meticulous attention to detail and made with the same care as if it were going to be worn by a real child.
