A very hard to find and fascinating book about one of the first coups in Africa, that toppled the first elected President. Published more than 40 years ago in Ghana, this book is now long out of print and very scarce, and can sell for $70 or more. Another original edition is not likely to come up for sale again soon on ebay. Note: "Chop' is West African Pidgin English for 'food,' and 'cold chop' is a meal that can be served instantly, without heating or cooking. 'Cold Chop' has thus become a slang expression for anything that can be got easily or without much effort." From the Preface: "Nkrumah fell from power in February 1966. The planning which lay behind the dramatic events of 24 February, the characters or main actors, and the hour-by-hour progress of the operation, were soon subjects for eager speculation in Ghana and abroad.
