For your consideration is this lot of nine assorted blacksmithing and metalworking hammers. Here is a brief description of each starting f rom left to right in the first photograph above: 1. Hammer/hatche t combination tool. Marked USA on tool head. Striking end is eight si ded. Overall length is about 13 5/8 inches. I made a handle for this tool from a broken axe handle and rubbed a lit tle boiled linseed oil into the wood. 2. Cross peen machinist type hammer. Marked PLUMB VICTORY. Very good shape. Wood handle is firmly affixed to hammer head. Wooden handle is marked TESTED PLUMB HICKORY. Overall length is about 13 3/4 inches. 3. Upholstery type hammer. Split and magnetized on one end. Marked FAIRMOUN T CLEVELAND on one side of hammer head and 897 on the other. Wooden handle is marked CRAFTSMAN BALL PEIN. Overall length of this tool is about 11 3/8 inches. About 5 3/4 inches from striking face to striking face. 4. Copper soft blow double faced hammer. Marked but I can't make it out. Handle is me tal lic. Overall length is about 12 1/2 inches. Distance from striking face is about 2 1/2 inches. Diameter of striking faces about 1 1/2 inch.5. Blacksmith flatter hammer. Overall length is about 13 inches.
