This beautiful RARE Colored Lithograph Print is Signed by E.J. Detmold (EJD). It is mounted to the Original Heavy Rag Paper Backing. It is clean and in undamaged condition. The top edge has age darkening along the edge, that will be hidden by a mat or frame. Print Size: 5-1/4 X 8-3/8 Inches Overall Size: 8 X 10-3/8 Inches This is an original book plate from Hours of Gladness by M. Maeterlinck, Illustrated by E. J. Detmold (1883-1957), 1st Edition, 1912 printed in London. He was well known for his animal and insect Illustrations. He started exhibiting his work at the age of 13. This is a very high quality heavy print, that is very scarce. It is worthy of a Professional Mat and Frame. It comes from a very rare book that is usually priced from about $300 to $500 (often higher). The print is much nicer than my Scan.
