Here is a piece of Racing History, perfect for any Collector of Automotive History. Signed by David Donohue, Tommy Archer and Jean-Philippe Belloc. The Dodge Viper GTS-R C17 started its career in June 1999 with world-famous Team Oreca, when it took part in the prestigious American Le Mans Series, starting with the 2 h 45 min of Mosport. In the hands of Tommy Archer and Karl Wendlinger, it finished its inaugural race at an honorable 12th place, just behind its team mate driven by Olivier Beretta and David Donohue. The two Oreca Vipers took top spots in their GTS category during this event. C17 took honor spots in the other races it entered during the 1999 season (see detailed results below). In 2000, the car only entered the Daytona tests. It finished 17th despites a slight accident which prevented it from being entered in the Daytona 24 hours two weeks later. Its teammates of the Viper Oreca team took the 1st, 3rd and 5th place of the major event. The Dodge Viper GTS-R C17 is then left aside for a few years. It comes back to racing in 2004 when it is successfully entered in the FFSA championship by MTO Mirabeau Competition. In the hands of 6 different drivers during the season, C17 took honor places in several races, including two podiums in Albi.
