BLACK SAND FROM THE BEACHES OF THE OREGON COAST - RICH IN GOLD - 1 (one) Pound bag. *** This is rich black sand from the historic area of Gold Beach, Oregon. The beaches ran rich in gold in the early mining days, and they still do from time to time during big winter storms. You'll see in the pictures below how and where I found I this black sand. I hiked in over 1/2 mile to find this deposit and carried the sand out in a back pack. I would have gladly mined it right there, but there wasn't any water (and no, you can't pump water from the ocean here like you can in Nome AK....it's way too rough here). This is the real McCoy, the kind of black sand that drew thousands to mine these beaches and made many of them wealthy in the end. Please note that there is also a smaller percentage of blonde and lighter sands mixed in with the black sand. This is because you're getting this sand directly 'as is' right out of the paystreak.
