Seth Thomas "ECLIPSE" CIRCA 1880'S The walnut case is in perfect original condition with original glass that shows bubbles The eight day Seth Thomas LYRE movement has just been serviced and is working just as it should. The clock chimes once for the half hour and strikes the hours on the hour. The dial pan is original with a old paper replacement over it The height is 24 1/2 inches NO RESERVE The 8 day Seth Thomas movement has just been serviced (very important for a clock of this age) and is running and striking just as it should. The hours are struck on the hour and the half hour strikes once on the coiled gong, very pleasing sound to hear. This movement has to be wound once a week. When winding this clock or any other clock for that matter it must be wound fully. Fully means winding until you can't wind any further. Don't make the mistake and assume all clocks work as they did when first manufactured. Look closely at the description many sellers use to describe there clocks. Ask if it was serviced (when and what was done) ask if they actually used the clock and how long it runs between windings. There are far to many shysters out there and even with 20 years of clock repair and restoration experience under my belt I still have been taken by not reading "between the lines".
