Extremely desirable film-used severed limb prop from the original "Texas Chainsaw Massacre," Tobe Hooper 's 1974 low-budget masterpiece of independent filmmaking and the acknowledged touchstone of the genre it literally created. Released in October of '74, it became an immediate horror film classic. Pre-dating such thrillers as âeoeFriday The 13thâe and âeoeHalloweenâe it's still the archetype of the âeoehack and slash,âe sub-genre of horror films. This groundbreaking movie offered shocking graphic simulations of human mutilation that besieged the viewerâe(tm)s fears and left them terrified - and introduced audiences to one of the most disturbing characters ever created: Leatherface. Completed for less than $150,000, it's grossed over $30,000,000 since release (and counting). The gruesome severed leg offered was created for - and used in - the making of this classic film, and was publicly exhibited for many years at The Movieland Wax Museum in Anaheim, California.
