You are bidding on a very beautiful and special originalJapanese woodblock print triptych “Snow Battle” signed by the famous Meiji woodblock print master Yoshitoshi Tsukioka (1839-1892) made in the Meiji Era. This is an original woodblock print triptych mor e than 10 5 years old. This woodblock print is part of a large number of gorgeous, different-styled Japanese woodblock print collections in my family and we are gradually selling them. The three panels are connected together. The total size of this original woodblock print triptych is 29 x 14 3/8 inches. Yoshitoshi is well known for violent scenes, epic legend s, and Bijin - he was one of the most famous woodblock print masters in Meiji Era. The artist’s signature is at the lower right corner of the right panel. The colors, which are vivid and vibrant, are in layers on the print. This woodblock print is attached to a thin original Japanese Washi backing paper to protect it from forming wormholes and tearing, but some ink bleeding can still be seen through the back of the original Japanese Washi backing paper. Except for some ink smear ing in the middle panel , some small white stains in right and left panels and a vertical crease in the middle of each panel due to the print’s age; this woodblock print triptych is in average condition.
