This is an ORIG. KOREA WAR ERA METAL TENT STOVE PIPE SHIELD 1951. The tent stove pipe shield was used during the Korean War and is the same type that was used in WW II. The tent stove pipe shield is made out of metal and is black in color. The tent stove shield was used on the to protect the canvas on the tent from catching on fire from the metal tent stove chimney pipe and helps supports the tent stove chimney pipe. The tent stove shield fits in the opening at the top or side of the tent and the tent stove chimney pipe goes through the hole in the tent stove heat shield. The tent shield measures 16 1/2 inches Long and 7 1/2 inches Wide. The center chimney pipe hole is oval shapped and measures 5 1/4 inches Long and 4 1/4 inches Wide. Stamped in the metal is the following information: U.S., C.M. CORP., CONT. DA-11-009-QM 11692, M.F.G. 1951. The Metal Tent Stove Pipe Shield Dated 1951 is in used very good + condition.
