Fantastic ORIGINAL 1941 B/W ( THIS IS NOT A COPY OR REPRODUCTION OF ANY TYPE-IT IS AN 100% ORIGINAL PERIOD DEVELOPED PHOTOGRAPH ) ACME Newspictures news photograph of the USAAC US Army Air Corps 20th Pursuit Group and their Curtiss P-40 fighters on the ramp at Hamilton Field California 1 day after the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor. Flimsy caption states that the 20th has just returned from the Louisiana and Carolina war games and may soon see action against the Japanese. The 20th Pursuit Group was re-designated the 20th Fighter Group and assigned to the mighty 8th Air Force in Europe in 1943 w they distinguished themselves flying the Lockheed P-38 Lightning and North American P-51 Mustang . P hoto measures 9" x 7" and is in very good condition with flimsy caption (please see scan for text), and Acme Newspictures stamp on back.
