This original document indicates that Drury Williams is a debtor that cannot pay his obligation and is requesting that Nathan Heard, Jr., who is keeper of the Gaol (jail) in Worcester, Mass. notify Lincoln Williams, the creditor owed, that he is a prisoner of Nathan Heard. This order is signed and executed by William Green, Justice of the Peace of Worcester County. The amount of the debt is sixteen dollars and five cents and the date of the order is July 24, 1820.This document measures folded 8" x 12 1/2". Unfolded 16" x 12 1/2" on handmade paper.Flawless.
