The choice of actor, role and landscape were carefully construed, and the puns and allusions often elude the viewer. This print shows the actor Sawamura Sojuro IV in the role of Kajiwara Genta. The station is Namata, between Fujikawa and Okazaki, and on the 'burnished' kimono there are three imprints of his actor crest (mon).
