Scarce, original 18th Century Plug Bayonet, probably English. 12 1/2 inches over all length, spear point blade just over 8 inches, steel gray with mottled areas, some very fine pitting along portions of the edges. Hilt appears to be dark walnut with turned rings, fittings appear to be silvered brass, very dark, undisturbed patina so difficult to tell. I would say this bayonet is for a hunting weapon rather than a military arm . Free Shipping within the US.
