Rare Vail Ski Poster "Colorado - Ski Country USA " Artist: Hal Shelton Vail opened for the 1962-1963 season with 3 lifts. Hal Shelton painted this ski area map a few years later when Vail had a total of 7 lifts. Today, Vail has 32 lifts, 193 trails, and over 5,200 acres of terrain. What a conversation piece this will be in your ski chalet, cabin, or vacation home. Here is a unique vintage ski poster. Hal Shelton is famous for his cartographic watercolors, and this collection is a nice example of the beauty of his work. His natural-color maps from the 1950's and 1960's were years ahead of their time. This is a vintage 43+ year old original, NOT a modern reproduction. Authenticity is guaranteed. It is printed on high-quality, heavy poster paper. The colors are clear and bright, and the image quality is superb. The collection was aquired from an elderly gentleman who was a poster dealer in the 60's , as well as an avid collector. He paid well over 100k to store the collection all these years. They have been stored away flat and unused, and the colors are still very bright and vibrant. If you are interested in this poster, please see my other auctions.
