Original unused circa 1981-82 Mediterranean Cruise US Navy USS Nimitz Israel Visit large jacket patch. Patch has the US and Israel flags by a Menorah inside a wreath with text "USS Nimitz CVN-68 Israel Visit 1981-82". Patch is embroidered on orange twill with a cut edge and tight cheesecloth backing being Med made during the cruise. Patch is one of 3 1981-82 Nimitz Med Cruise patches up for sale, and this cruise included the Gulf of Sidra incident with Libya where two SU-22's were shot down by two F-14 Tomcats of VF-41 off of the Nimitz. Patch measures 6.0 inches in size and is in near mint unused condition with two staple holes near the left edge as viewed in the photo (please see photos for best description). Nice original aircraft carrier patch for a collection or display in a veterans shadow box. Seller does combine shipping on items, but please wait for an E-bay invoice from the seller in order to get this savings as this combines the items in Paypal and saves me fees also.
