MADE IN THE U.S.A. Imagine picking out a large, folded piece of paper you hadn't even seen when you got a box of miscellaneous items at a large, 4-generation estate sale. As we unfolded the paper, our curiosity turned into gasps of disbelief as we read the first words at the bottom of the poster: "FREEDOM FROM WANT." Delicately unfolding the rest of this HUGE 56 inch by 40 inch original color poster, we realized we had stumbled upon a genuine piece of World War II patriotic memorabilia that starts with the words, "OURS...to fight for." It is one of the series of 4 that Norman Rockwell did to sell war bonds, and this particular one showing the family around a Thanksgiving table is probably the most well known. But in this large size of the 3 sizes that were made, it is ALSO possibly the most rare to find at all anymore. The close-up photo of the lower portion should allow viewers to see the date and the words "Office of War Information" #0.511886 that further confirms its authenticity. FYI, we have seen the OTHER 3 posters in this series and size selling for $795.00 EACH! We'd love to say it's in excellent condition, but it's not. It apparently was not just folded once and put away like some were, but must have been looked at many, many times over the years from 1943 when it was first published.
