Please see detailed item description below photographs An English Merryweather Edwardian Brass Fireman's Helmet.This is an original Antique item and NOT a modern replica.The helmet is in very nice condition overall. The brass body does have some minor dints and scuffs here and there but these are minimal. Both the brass peak and neck protector are again in great condition with no fractures etc. The comb does have some dents to the top front and seems to lean a little! (please see photographs). One strap securing boss has been solder repaired sometime during the helmets 100 year history but this has been done well and is hardly noticeable. The helmets original leather lining is intact with no splits or damage and the original leather lace has been replaced. Original brass link chin chain and leather but the leather backing has come adrift on one side, this is present and could be easily repaired if required. The original buckle is present. To give an idea of the fitting size the inside liner measures 7"1/4 x 6"3/4 (18.5cm x 17cm). I would say it's a Small.The helmet will be packed in it's own custom made polystyrene box for maximum protection during transit.
