Antique Original Oil painting on canvas The Embarrassed Donkey c1870 after Filippo Palizzi (1818-1899) FRAMED in antique frame. This is an oil painting on its original canvas, an antique copy of the painting by Filippo Palizzi "The Embarrassed Donkey", painted in 1857. In Wikipedia the cart is said to be carrying fennel and the donkey is powerless to stop the goats taking their feed, as is the herder who is several paces behind. This is an attractive humorous painting, framed in an antique over painted gold frame. It is not signed or dated. It is an original antique oil painting on canvas from around 1870 It is in good condition with some restoration It is neither signed nor dated It is framed in an overpainted antique frame Canvas size approximately 22 1/2 " x 15" (57cm x 38cm) Frame size approximately 32" x 24" (81c m x 61cm ) About us We have been restoring and dealing in oil paintings for over 50 years, and have a wealth of experience.
