Original Antique Oil on Canvas of Oliver Cromwell (1599-1658). Likely dating to the last half of the 18th century or the first half of the 19th century, circa 1800. This is probably after the portrait of Cromwell by Samuel Cooper (died 1672) . The wood stretchers and canvas appear to be American and it appears that the canvas was restretched in the early 1800s. In good order and now mounted in a nice 20th century frame, ready to display. There are some well done restorations. There is old writing on the canvas, but it is not clear. Offered with no reserve. This is a true auction. All items are sold with a low starting bid and with no reserve. All items are sold as - is and all sales are final. Returns are accepted only in the rare case when an item has been substantially misrepresented. The value of all foreign sales will be stated in full on customs forms at the price the item sold for.
